Modern Gate, Contemporary Latch

As we continue to spend more time at home and outdoors for the summer – a friendly reminder of our monthly photo contest. Simply take a few photos of our product(s) on your project, send them our way and you’ll be entered into a drawing for $100 in 360 Yardware store credit.

Take a look at June’s winner: our Nero Contemporary Lever Gate Latch on this sharp-looking custom gate!

Metal-framed gates with wood insets can be a fabulous long-term gate solution! The benefits: metal doesn’t move and change shape/size over time like wood. So in theory there should be no adjustments ever needed. The challenge: metal gates are often framed in narrow stiles so it can be difficult to find a latch to fit on the skinny vertical piece. Someone experienced in tapping and threading metal needs to do installation.

But despite the challenges, with planning well-ahead of your project, metal gates are terrific options! This photo shows a black powdercoated gate with the Nero Latch on it, blending in, and doing the job!

Custom Metal-Trimmed Gate with 360 Yardware Nero Contemporary Lever Gate Latch

While this gate likely has a metal gate stop built into the trim, gate stops are included in all of our packages – and for good reason! You can read more about them in this blog post (and parts 2 and 3), but in short, your latch-arm and catch are meant to latch the gate, not stop it; a gate stop will – and will protect your hardware from damage caused by a gate slamming shut (not to mention, keep your warranty valid).
