How is this for a welcome?!
We are loving the peek at a Massachusetts property, via this Moon Gate, which features Snug Cottage Hardware’s Contemporary Ring Latch (and dummy for the second side).

Once you’re inside, more of the hardware is visible. For example, we know that the gate swings inward, since the latching arm is always on the side that the gate swings toward. Note that when you build your latch package, you’re welcome to add a dummy, cane bolt, hinges and padlock eyes. All sets automatically come with gate stops, which are small, but mighty and essential. You can read more about them in this blog post (and parts 2 and 3), but in short, your latch-arm and catch are meant to latch the gate, not stop it. A gate stop will protect your hardware from damage caused by a gate slamming shut (not to mention, keep your warranty valid).
Utilizing cane bolts on both sides of the double gate means you’re able to secure the sides open or closed, depending on what you need…I mean, we don’t *think* we overstayed our welcome, but looks like it’s time to say goodbye. 😉
