Your July submissions featured a diversity of product and purpose usage, as well as talented craftsmanship. One gate is to keep deer from a backyard in Santa Barbara, California. It’s a HEAVY piece, helped by the Marine Grade Hinges and finished with our Nero Contemporary Gate Latch.
Our winner – Warren Snow – made mahogany gates to replace rotted painted gates at a historic property in Virginia; perfect for a Twisted Ring Gate Latch.
One element that’s often tricky to see in photos, but critical to the longevity of your gate latch, is the gate stop. Gate stops are included in all of our packages – and for good reason! You can read more about them in this blog post (and parts 2 and 3), but in short, your latch arm and catch are meant to latch the gate, not stop it; a gate stop will – and will protect your hardware from damage caused by a gate slamming shut (not to mention, keep your warranty valid).
Thank you for all of the lovely photos – and we look forward to seeing more this month!
