Get the Look: Bronze Door, Shutter, Gate and Carriage House Door Hardware
Sometimes it’s easier to know what you want by seeing something that’s already put together. This beautiful property was outfitted and photographed by Coastal Bronze. They installed doors, gates, shutters, and carriage house doors. Each photo has a discussion of the hardware installed.
The entry door is hung on bronze butt hinges (the hinge barrels are visible inside). The exterior of the door features 28″ decorative dummy strap hinges. A 5″plate with ring is the entry hardware. The board and batten shutters have bronze shutter hardware installed, which is visible when the shutters are closed.
Hardware in this photo:
- 4″ x 4″ Solid Bronze Butt Hinge, set of 3
- 28″ Solid Bronze Dummy Band Hinge
- 5″ Square Plate Passage Set
- Bronze New York Style Shutter Hardware (1-1/4″ Offset)

The carriage house uses the 4.5″ Bronze Butt Hinge to hang the doors. Noting the hinges on the outside means that the doors all swing out. On the single entry door, the homeowner added the 28″ dummy band hinges for an architectural accent. Again, the shutters are operable and have the bronze New York Style shutter hardware.

In the back-center of this photo you can see a double gate. The right side is fixed to the brick courtyard with a cane bolt, and a 14″ slide bolt up above to hold the gate steady into the header. In the back-left is a storage area with doors pulling out. They use dummy strap hinges similar to other doors for an architectural accent.
